I had a hard time deciding what type of illustrations to include on this site.
There's so much great artwork out there, I want to include it all!
Instead, I thought perhaps just pin-ups, but even that is way too broad.
Also, the WWII ear "Cheesecake" style pinups are not quite the same thing as contemporary artworks. On this site, we're going to skip the 1950's style images of what your grandma might have looked like, and just focus on the look from the 70's and beyond.
Cheesecake pinups are cool too, so perhaps I'll post another site dedicated to that style with the likes of Gil Elvgren and Baron Von Lind.
Most artists have more than one subject or style they do.
This site is a tribute to the masters of "Modern Pin-Up", "Exotic / Fetish" or "Fantasy" artwork which includes scantily-clad or alluring women. There are some great landscape paintings out there, but that's not what we're doing here. It's alright if there's a man or creature in the illustration, but they should all include women too.
Another tough decision to make for this site was whether or not to include the more cartoony styles of anime or manga. I've seen great "tubes" and stickers, but again, that's just not what we're doing here. Perhaps that will make another great site someday.
