...well, that's it for me anyway! Erotic Art is many different things to different people.
Some folks are turned-on by head-to-toe vinyl outfits, ...some like furry animal costumes, ...fruits & vegetables? ...toes & feet! ...mini-skirts, hot pants, high heels, long hair, big, small, red, yellow, brown, black, ...and some that even want to see kinky-weird stuff with crazy-contraptions and poor little farm animals.
Here's what I can tell you about Erotic Art in the context of this website:
1. ILLUSTRATIONS - The artwork on display was created by the hand of an artist! They envisioned something, then spent perhaps hundreds of hours to create the work. They want others to enjoy it, or perhaps not. Either way, this is your opportunity to experience the mastery involved.
2. PORNOGRAPHY - There is NO PORN on this site! You will not see photos or videos of humans conducting lewd behavior, alright? AND, all models depicted here (human or otherwise) are all intended to be considered legal adults (over 18). This applies to this world and the fantasy world the character actually comes from. If the depiction looks young, ...it's a very youthful-looking eighteen!
3. EXPLICIT MATERIAL - We try to avoid some of the more "extreme" artwork that's out there. This is not intended to be a gynecology lesson! Body fluids are not very popular here. We have no tolerance for bigotry, although various themes of hate seem to be very popular. There is partial and full-nudity depicted! You will probably see plenty of guts-n-gore, head-lopping, torture, and impalement.
Is it Porn?
One of the things I hear all the time and end up having to explain, is the difference between erotic art and pornography. The line may be further blurred if we were also to discuss erotic photography. The other day, I even had to try and explain it to my own mother!
What makes it erotic? If it gets you hot, then it's erotic! If you experience something that gives you a funny feeling just below your belt and you start thinking about having sex, ...it's erotic!
What makes it art? It has nothing to do with whether you like it or not. Art is an expression of ones own creativity. If you dream it up and try to create it, ...it's art!
So, what's porn then? The term pornography has more to do with something not being socially acceptable. Perhaps because it's overly explicit or contains subject matter that most people would not consider appropriate. In other words, it's kinda dirty.
Well, isn't erotic art similar to porn? Like everything else, it all depends on how you look at it. Often, erotic art contains nudity, as pornography usually does. I suppose you can make a case around that.
One huge distinction is that pornography is generally expressed as photographs, video or film. Whereas erotic art or illustrations, are generally created by the hand of an artist.
So, what does socially acceptable mean? that all depends where you are. In some middle-eastern cultures, it's not socially acceptable for women to show even the smallest amount of flesh. Whilst in other societies, it is perfectly acceptable to be seen in public topless with only a tiny piece of cloth to cover the goods.
